What Must I Do To Be Saved?

1. Realize We All Have Sinned

Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” God’s Word reminds us that we all have sinned. The word SIN means to miss the mark, or come short of perfection, by disobeying God. At one time or another, we have all chosen to disobey God.

2. Realize Sin Has A Penalty

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages (payment) of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” The payment for your sin is death and separation from God in a place the Bible calls Hell. This is the fate of every person who has not believed on Jesus Christ as their Savior. The Bible tells us in Matthew 25:46, “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment…”

3. Realize Jesus Paid the Penalty

Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth (proved) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God proved His love for you by giving His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for your sin. Jesus died in your place and paid your penalty.

4. Believe on Jesus Today

Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” To BELIEVE on Jesus Christ as Savior means to have faith that He died for you, paid the price for your sin, and is the only way to Heaven. You can express your belief on Jesus through a simple prayer.

5. Pray Sincerely…

“Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner and that I deserve Hell. I believe you died on the cross, paid the penalty for my sin, and rose from the dead three days later. I am placing my faith in you alone to forgive my sin and save me. Thank you for giving me eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
