Family.
Family is togetherness.
I truly love my family. A family will grow together, learn together, work together, rest together, laugh together, and even cry together. Everything about the family is about being together. Someone said that there is strength in numbers. Family has a lot of strength together. I have found that there is a lot of security in family as well. The love that one receives from being in a family is strong enough to face any battle, and secure enough to weather any storm. You might say, “Wow, sounds like the perfect family!” to which I would reply, “Not even close.” See, the “perfect” family would never include me. The fact is, I have failed my family many times. There have been times that I was more focused on me, that I willfully pursued what pleased and benefited myself, rather than being obedient to my Father. I have had to ask forgiveness more than I desire to explain. No, my family is not perfect; but because of the love of my Father, we are still together as a family. This is why I believe my family is the greatest family in the world! You might be wondering how I could be so blessed to have a Father that is so full of love. Let me share with you.
I didn’t begin my life in this family. My Father pursued and chose to love me enough that He desired to adopt me. There wasn’t really anything that I did or could do to gain His gracious love. He just offered me this gift of adoption and I accepted. That is all it took for me to be a part of the greatest family ever. And as His adopted child, He has stated that I should “…call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.” (Matthew 23:9) GOD is my Father! It was GOD that chose to pursue me and offer me a very precious gift – the opportunity to be adopted into His family. (“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,” – Ephesians 1:5) And all I had to do is accept His gift. But the most interesting thing happened: I learned that this gift from GOD wasn’t offered to just me but to the whole world. And we can know this to be true through the Words of GOD’s Son, Jesus (“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16) I know, I have the most wonderful Father anyone could ever have! So now my life has new meaning and a new purpose. Just as any child would desire to please their dad and make him proud, I want to do just the same. My Father has promised that He will never leave me. (Hebrews 13:5) My Father said that He is working to make me the best that I can be in life. (Philippians 1:6) Together, my Father and I are able to accomplish any task, climb any mountain, and persevere through any storm that life may bring. This is my Father and this is my family. Would you desire to be adopted as I have? As I have stated before, my Father is willing to adopt you to be a part of His family, and then you can experience the greatest blessing known to any family – togetherness!
I would ask you to go to our “salvation” page and follow God’s Word and directions for adoption. You will never regret this decision!
